At the upper-right is the Edit Element button. You could have a mish-mash of a kit with a different item from each of the various kits if you want. The same goes for the cymbals, hi-hat, toms and kick drum. If you had started (for example) with the Grungy kit and clicked the snare on the page, you could swap it out with a snare from one of the other kits. If you click on part of the kit, such as the snare drum, alternate snare choices will appear towards the top. Of course, you can save your kit the way you’d like.Ĭlicking the Customize button brings you to the page where you can edit a drum kit. MODO DRUM also has preset variations on the kits you can access from a menu in the upper-left. For instance, there’s a kit called Plexi (modeled after a Ludwig Vistalite kit) with a description that hints at the legendary drummer behind the famous drum set. In case the name doesn’t ring a bell, after you’ve loaded a kit there is a description towards the left side. The Grungy kit looks a bit Nirvana-like, and then there’s the kit named Jazzy which is self-explanatory. The names IK has given them help to describe the style they might be used for and/or the inspiration behind the kit. These are great starting points for use in your tracks, even if you don’t end up editing them. Towards the top are choices for the ten kits that are included. You can resize the display by clicking and dragging the bottom-right corner. To install on a PC you’ll need an AVX capable CPU (Intel i5 equivalent or better) and Windows 7 or higher OS (64-bit only). Combine all that with excellent effects and a versatile mixer and you have a powerhouse drum instrument. Skins can be changed from clear to coated, drum sticks have a selection of nylon or wood tip, kick drum beater types can be switched, shell size, tuning, play style (location of where the stick hits the drum skin), and much more. Kits can be created from scratch letting you add the parts you want until it is just the way you’d like.
